ATGCC Custom Bathroom Projects

One of our favorite challenges is finding ways to use reclaimed materials and repurposing them to combine historical spirit with modern design. That's exactly what we got to do when a client contacted us to create a few custom pieces for a bathroom remodel.

The first project was to install three floating shelves in the master bathroom. The client provided the wood slabs, and we did the work on installing the hardware for these beautiful floating shelves.

The next project was a kids’ bath that we provided and installed.  We got extra creative with this one and installed a unique bench seat made from wood from the Hwy 50 barn teardown in Burlington, Wisconsin.

Above the bench seat, we added a shelf on corbels that the client provided.

In a cubby across the room, we provided three shelves and created the top to the laundry chute on the floor.

The final project was a custom window ledge to match! This final piece was also created using upcycled wood from the Hwy 50 Barn in Burlington, Wisconsin.

At Against the Grain Creative Concepts, we believe that reclaimed wood furniture stands out from the rest because it has character! We preserve the history of the wood, leaving the saw cuts, scars, and distinctive markings. We believe that scars have stories! The inevitable marks of use, utility, and age shouldn’t be erased, they should be embraced. These marks, mars, and scars don’t detract from the beauty and artistic expression of an item, rather they are proof that it has value, that it was used, that it was loved, so we loved tying upcycled wood materials into this modern bathroom design!
